5 tools that let you slash your Enterprise SaaS license costs
In today’s digital workplace, many businesses rely on Line-of-Business (LOB) applications or B2B SaaS platforms like Workday, Zendesk, and ServiceNow for their operations. While these tools are essential, their per-user licensing costs can become a significant burden, especially as teams grow. However, by integrating these tools with automation platforms like Zapier or Power Automate, companies can extend the visibility and functionality of their software without needing to buy a license for every individual user. For instance, a popular use case for Zapier is to automate customer support tickets between Zendesk and Slack, enabling the whole team to monitor ticket statuses…

The best replacement for Office 365 connectors within Teams
Update: This seems to be now delayed until December, which gives you slightly more time to test the replacement. Without much fanfare, but to the dismay of power users, Microsoft announced they’re shuttering Connectors for Microsoft Teams. The feature was a close relative of SharePoint’s Connector web part, which, too, will be discontinued. This feature was a circa-2016 precursor to Power Automate and allowed users to create a web part or Teams channel message based on new events in a handful of connectors that were available from Microsoft. The selection of connectors was sizable in Teams, but much smaller in…

Embed RSS news feed web part into SharePoint or Viva Connections (Updated 2025)
Despite first being released in 1999 (yeah, a quarter of a century ago) RSS feeds are still a go-to format to syndicate news from different sources. This makes it also an ideal tool to show local news, weather, traffic updates, and more to users of your intranet. SharePoint used to offer a built-in RSS reader web part, but it was broken for many years until it was removed in 2024 alongside other SharePoint Connectors. From the SharePoint store: RSS feeds web part Luckily there is an easy replacement available directly on Microsoft AppSource: RSS feed web part for SharePoint. It’s…

Will ChatGPT enhance SharePoint intranets?
Doing your kids’ history homework, writing marketing plans and killing off Google – ChatGPT seems to single-handedly do it all. And it came almost out of nowhere. In this article we’ll inspect whether Microsoft, having recently increased its share in OpenAI, could enhance SharePoint or Viva Connections with it. We’re starting off with SharePoint’s search as the existing product, before considering if a chatbot might come to SharePoint. Search Search engine optimizers have long observed that most Google searches do not result in a click anymore. That’s due to Google’s featured snippets, that present passages of crawled text directly on…
